Born in Pincher Creek, Alberta, Rigaux studied at the Banff School of Fine Arts (1967);  school of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (1969); and at the Alberta College of Art (1970-1974).  A landscape painter working in watercolour and gouache, his subjects include the Alberta foothills, lake and river scenes, and still life.
